I respectfully disagree. You should always have some abs even in the “off
season”. Any extra “bulk” is just wasted space and makes your prep all that
much harder. Let’s say you put on 5 pounds of lean mass in a year, which is
a lot…we’ll even go crazy and say 10…it doesn’t matter if you have 20
or 50 pounds of shit over top of it. When (or if) you get the 50 off, it’s
still just 10 pounds of lean mass. I’ve been there and it’s a waste, trust
me. Unfortunately we’re not all like Lee Priest. 20 pounds off stage weight
is the most I go now…JMO
Gary, how you cope with the stretch marks? I have marks near my armpits too
and sometimes small ones on my thighs, thou’ the ones on thighs seem to
heal pretty quick usually (clearly not enough leg workout if they can heal
😀 ).
Do you try to get them healed before competition, during prep or you just
let them be?
They don’t bother me as much anymore, but of course it would be nice to
hear how you as a pro treat them if you do at all.
